More About Karen S. Coffey

Karen S. Coffey, a graduate Chicago-Kent College of Law, has been drafting contracts; setting up and dissolving business entities; and representing individuals in residential real estate closings since 1998. She also drafts wills, trusts and powers of attorney. Ms. Coffey has practiced law at the state level in Illinois and at the federal level in both Illinois and Indiana.

Before beginning her career as an attorney, Karen worked as a professional fundraiser and, before that, a case worker. Over the years, Ms. Coffey has continued to actively help others. Among her most recent endeavors, Karen served as a Chicago Public School teacher and as a foster parent/volunteer for Little City Foundation.

Growing Up in Michigan

Ms. Coffey was born in the Edgewater neighborhood on the northeast side of Chicago and moved to New Buffalo, MI when she was eight. She left New Buffalo in 1988 to attend Michigan State University and received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude in criminal justice with an emphasis in juvenile delinquency. Ms. Coffey moved back to Chicago in 1991 and currently resides in the Uptown neighborhood.
